Area Law Enforcement
Around fifty vehicles have been covered with what seems to be human bodily fluid in the Germany's city of Hanau close to Frankfurt, according to police.
Vehicles, walls and postal boxes were vandalized, occasionally with Nazi symbols, they stated in a official communication.
Law enforcement report they were contacted during the night on Wednesday, when a man observed that a automobile in the Lamboy area of Hanau had been marked with a reddish fluid.
The fluid had been placed in the shape of a banned symbol, they reported.
Officers then discovered numerous other vandalized automobiles and house walls in the surrounding area.
Swastikas are illegal in Germany under laws outlawing the public display of symbols from the Nazi era.
Law enforcement state initial examinations show the liquid was probably human bodily fluid.
"There is still no lead as to its source; investigators are not yet informed of any physical harm in association with the event," they stated.
Local authorities stated they were working "to solve the incident" and have requested to the community for information.
A senior representative stated the vandalism rendered him speechless and required to be solved quickly.
"This event hits the very heart of Hanau and reopens the pain of the right-wing violent incident half a decade ago," he stated on online, recalling the killing of nine victims by a shooter targeting people of immigrant origin in 2020.
