19 of Medvedev's twenty-one victories have been earned on hard surfaces

A revitalized Medvedev won his initial championship for 882 days with a win over opponent Moutet in the Almaty Open final.

Medvedev, a ex- number one, has endured a challenging season, achieving just one win at the Grand Slams and experiencing a difficult moment at the New York tournament.

The player's varied form on the ATP Tour - and struggles with his serving in particular - caused him exiting of the top ten and ultimately parting ways with long-time coach Cervara.

Presently collaborating with his coach and Goetzke, he has gradually improved in the past month - peaking in a tightly fought competitive triumph over opponent Moutet.

This marks Medvedev's initial title after the 2023 Rome Masters and initial on a hard surface from that period of that year.

Victory also signifies Medvedev has secured 21 titles at twenty-one distinct competitions.

"This marks the first occasion I have attended a tournament with my both daughters at once, so to secure a trophy is especially meaningful," commented ranked player Medvedev.

"This championship is in dedication of my younger daughter her name, because the initial championship I got when my first daughter her name was born was for her."

Medvedev, the former major winner, had been defeated in his last six title deciders, featuring in Halle earlier this year.

His defensive play style and recurring outbursts on the playing surface had led some to question if his capacity to play at the elite level was concluded.

However the player has altered his approach in the last few weeks, making an effort to advance forward and compete aggressively, reinforced by an better service.

The champion recovered from a deficit in the opening set against the tricky Frenchman, taking four of the last five points to gain the advantage.

The competitors swapped break points in the second set before Moutet, bidding for his initial professional title, gained dominance to push for a third set.

He saved four initial chances in a close third set before Medvedev secured a break to 15 to secure the win.

Appropriately, he clinched the win with a rally at the net area, with Moutet failing to handle a return after over two and a half hours.
